KEEP -Information for Children on Dementia: HOME

This guide has been designed for upper primary school age children dealing with elderly grandparents suffering from dementia.

About this Guide

Information for children on dementia is designed for children with grandparents diagnosed with early, middle and late stage dementia. The resources compiled in this LibGuide range from picture story books, short novels, animation films and interactive age appropriate websites, for children to learn more about dementia. The books can be found in any state Alzheimer's Australia Library, the National Library Australia, local libraries and if you want to own your own copy, they can be purchased online from Amazon and other online bookstores.

The resources can be used by parents and teachers to help children understand dementia. I've included a page titled Support Kit and the information can be adapted by parents to generate discussion and teachers to assist in inferential comprehension.
